Colorado

On Colorado Gives Day, the Dairy Center for the Arts raised almost $25,000 in 24 hours thanks to donors from around the state. As they move into the second phase of a large-scale renovation of their Boulder performing arts space, every cent is appreciated! emBOLDen Alliances also had a successful day on Colorado Gives Day, raising almost $1500 to support their worldwide humanitarian efforts. There are many different ways to donate to emBOLDen Alliances - visit their website to learn more.

Grassroots Global Development Foundation recently announced a new grant they have awarded to Ñepi Behña (“Women of Dignity”) in the Eastern Mexican state of Hidalgo. This community organization focuses on strengthening the skills and leadership of indigenous Mexican women in the community. The grant awarded by Grassroots Global will go towards a food security and livelihood initiative that includes workshops, education, and implementation of backyard food production modules for beneficiary families. Michigan

On Giving Tuesday, North Star Reach raised enough money to stock 12 of their camper cabins with 148 beds and mattresses. With this new summer camp for children with serious or life-threatening health challenges scheduled to open in the summer of 2016, their campers are going to need a place to sleep! Ozone House Youth and Family Services recently announced the appointment of Allie Schachter to the role of Development Director. Schachter brings years of experience to the position, including four years as Ozone House’s Program Evaluation and Grants Director. Ann Arbor Academy has just announced the Second Annual Ann Arbor Academy Film Festival, which will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at the Michigan Theater in downtown Ann Arbor. This private, independent day school for students with unique learning styles will also be holding their annual scholarship auction on Saturday, April 16. Mark your calendars!
