The Alliance for Climate Education (ACE) is celebrating their 10th anniversary! On May 2, ACE will host an event in San Francisco to showcase inspiring young leaders and honor their achievements in the climate movement. Can’t make it to San Francisco? Support ACE in other ways, like donating, joining ACE’s Supporter Network, or hosting a house party for climate action.

Did you miss the first High Line Canal Conservancy April Open House earlier this month? You still have a chance to catch their second open house on Thursday, April 26th, from 4:30-7:30pm at the Aurora Public Library! Join the High Line Canal Conservancy for a discussion on the Community Vision Plan, a set of guiding principles for the protection and enhancement of the High Line Canal. This 71-mile canal is one of the longest continuous urban trails in the nation, running through 11 governmental jurisdictions in the area of Denver, Colorado. Learn more about the canal and the Conservancy at highlinecanal.org.

Are you looking for a way to volunteer and get outdoors during spring? Consider volunteering with Habitat for Humanity! You can volunteer as an individual or as a group – a great idea for a team-building exercise that gives back at the same time. Last summer, the Altruic Advisors staff came together to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley, where we spent a beautiful, sunny day demolishing walls and pulling weeds. Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley serves the area of Ann Arbor, Michigan, but Habitat affiliates are located all across the county. Find your local Habitat for Humanity here!

If hammers and nails aren’t your thing (or your seasonal allergies have driven you inside) there are many indoor volunteer opportunities as well! For example, you can help kids with homework and career planning by volunteering with your local Boys & Girls Club – such as the Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region in southern Colorado – or volunteer in a community kitchen like Food Gatherers in Ann Arbor, Michigan. There are many ways to volunteer indoors this spring, so what are you waiting for? Go out there and create good!
