USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is the national governing body of organized water skiing and wakeboarding in the United States. USA-WSWS strives to advance, support, and service all towed water sports - including water skiing, barefoot skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and hydrofoiling - through widespread recreational participation, education, promotion and competitive excellence.

As the largest and most active water ski federation in the world, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports serves thousands of competitive and recreational water skiers each year. In addition to sanctioned tournaments and competitions, the organization provides learn-to-ski clinics, instructor certification, safety training, and waterways advocacy.

Like many small nonprofits and other sports membership organizations, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports had to cancel many events and programs and saw membership numbers decrease in 2020. But thanks to their small team of dedicated staff members supported by Altruic Advisors, the organization has been able to ride the wave through adversity with a newly modernized, remote-friendly accounting system and an unwavering passion for towed water sports.

Learning New Tricks

Altruic Advisors was tapped to provide CFO Solutions when the in-house accountant at USA Water Ski & Wake Sports departed the organization after more than 30 years of service. Altruic Advisors helped to modernize and update the organization’s accounting procedures by implementing cloud-based accounting platforms like QuickBooks Online for general ledger accounting, Bill.com for accounts payable, and Gusto for payroll. This network of integrated, cloud-based systems allowed Altruic Advisors to maintain the organization’s standard accounting procedures throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Ride The Wave

By modernizing their accounting system, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports was able to adapt to a new way of working. As the organization seeks to recover from the pandemic and rebuild their membership base, they can rely on an experienced team of accountants to help them stay current and compliant with all their financial reporting obligations.

In addition to returning sanctioned tournaments and competitions to pre-COVID levels, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports aims to grow their membership, attract new athletes and teach new skills, advocate for public access to waterways, and help towed water sports thrive across the United States.

We transitioned to Altruic Advisors from an in-house accountant who had been with the organization for 30+ years. The move has been great...Altruic has helped our organization stay current from an accounting perspective.
