Colorado

emBOLDen Alliances celebrates their 1st anniversary on Wednesday, February 25! They will be hosting an open house at their offices at 910 Jackson St, Golden, CO, from 4-7 pm. Activities include wine and cheese, and a raffle with prizes. RSVP to help emBOLDen Alliances celebrate a year of maximizing the impact of numerous organizations, individuals, and institutions in underserved communities.

Reading Village has announced the development of a new program in rural Guatemala, offering a support system for recent graduates with the goal of helping them transition from high school to universities or entrepreneurship. This program will include university scholarships, fellowships, and employment assistance for recent Reading Village graduates. Learn more on the Reading Village blog.

Michigan

On Monday, February 9th, The Ark in Ann Arbor, MI will host “Somebody Told Me,” a special fundraising event for North Star Reach, Sky High Hope Camp, and the Dear Jack Foundation. Four singer-songwriters will perform and tickets proceeds go to benefit these three organizations. Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley was recently in the news for their veterans’ program in Ypsilanti Township’s West Willow neighborhood, offering interest-free loans for energy efficient home improvements. Therapeutic Riding, Inc. has been honored as the 2015 beneficiary of the University of Michigan Polish Student Association’s Wolverine Charity Ball. The Ball will take place on Saturday, February 7, from 7pm-midnight at the Michigan League Ballroom in Ann Arbor. Performance Network Theatre is getting rave reviews for their performance of the 2002 Pulitzer Prize finalist “Yellowman.” The show will run for three more weekends at the nonprofit theatre’s Ann Arbor location at 120 E. Huron St.
