Congratulations to 826michigan for being named a finalist in the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation's Detroit Knight Arts Challenge! The project proposed by 826michigan would celebrate young creative voices by distributing their poems on pizza boxes during National Poetry Month. 826michigan is a community writing and tutoring program for school-aged children in Ann Arbor and Detroit. Their mission is to help students write confidently and skillfully with the help of adult volunteers in their communities.

The High Line Canal Conservancy just wrapped up a successful, sold-out inaugural fundraising event to help support the 71-mile High Line Canal. "Dine for the High Line 2018" hosted 300 guests, sponsors, and volunteers in Aurora, Colorado with a fun and delicious event under the stars. Proceeds from the event will help secure long-term protection and maintenance of the High Line Canal, one of the country's longest urban trails. The Association of University Presses recently announced several new promotions and new staff positions, including the new role of External Communications Manager, a position designed to communicate the unique value of university presses to the broader academic community and support public awareness campaigns. The Association of University Presses was founded in 1937 and is comprised of more than 140 international nonprofit scholarly publishers. AUPresses is committed to advancing a global community of publishers to ensure academic excellence and cultivate knowledge.
