The National Association for Interpretation is preparing for the NAI National Conference next month, where the organization will also be celebrating their 30th anniversary. This professional association - headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado - supports and advocates for those who are involved in the interpretation of natural and cultural heritage resources, such as staff and volunteers at parks, zoos, museums, and historical sites. Every year, NAI brings together interpreters from across the country to share ideas and brush up on their skills. This year's conference takes place in beautiful New Orleans, a city steeped in history - the perfect fit for this year's theme of interpretation's role over time.

CraneFest is coming! This weekend, October 13-14, Michigan Audubon Society celebrates Sandhill Cranes and art with the 24th annual CraneFest in Bellevue, Michigan. This family-friendly festival will feature nature-themed artists, vendors, food, and a variety of environmental and conservation-related information and educational activities. A "fly-in" of hundreds of Sandhill Cranes into Big Marsh Lake will occur throughout the weekend, peaking between 5pm and dusk. It's an experience you won't want to miss!
